Do We Know This?

On most days, I turn off the alarm, stand under rain in a box, pull up my jeans, slip on my shoes and enter another day He gave me.  But it never even occurs to me that I also awoke with the same power that raised Jesus from the dead.

And what if I did? Remember . . .

  1. I have been thinking about this since I got it in my inbox…I LOVE IT. I have never thought about it. and now I can’t stop. Thank you, dear friend.
I have nothing to add. just wanted to say thank you.
    all for Him,
    Nikki

    • Nikki, I usually read the verses for the day and then pick one that stands out and it was like God highlighted the words the more I read them. I am thinking about it too. Thanks for being here with me.

Such a pretty picture and scripture! Love it!

Thanks for visiting my blog and commenting!

  3. It really takes this same spirit who raised Christ from the dead to wake me up mornings;-)
Then it requires the magic potion of double expresso (made by my husband) to get me moving. Every good and perfect gift comes from the Father above!

  4. Floralba says:

A powerful reminder of the ONE who has poewr over death and the significance of that same power that abides in we who LIVE to worship HIM!

I love that scripture! I started praying it over our son fifteen years ago when he was in a coma, and I still do to this day. More than any other verse, this one boosts my faith to pray for the physical needs of believers. Thanks for pairing it with such a lovely visual.

  6. Powerful verse with the photo today!! Always enjoy your posts Shelly!

  7. It’s so true. This is one of the most difficult everyday promises and descriptions of our spiritual life we can hardly comprehend. And, yet, it is so true and is drawing us closer and closer to our Dear Father.

  8. Dea says:

If we remembered that one truth…we would rise and then fall— straight to our knees.

  9. Deidra Riggs says:

I would call that “walking up on purpose”! Great pondering thought my friend.

  12. Katie Lloyd says:

I’m definitely guilty of just going through the motions most days…I’m guessing if I woke up with this thought every day, I’d be much more intentional with my time!

  13. Maureen says:

Wow – sobering thought, so much we take for granted, assuming we are in control. Ha!
Rain in a box – very clever, a fun image, another little item we take for granted. Thanks for the reminder and the fresh perspective.

  14. Denise says:

Ahh…yes…remember and seeking to live it.

  15. And what would/could happen if we remembered that we’ve got the power? (Giggling at the rain in the box.) Hugs to you today.

  16. Thankful for each day Shelley and everything that comes with it.

  21. Amy says:

I don’t remember often enough :) … sadly the first thoughts are of what I need to do or how well I slept. This week, I’m going to wake and REMEMBER to have this be my first thought! Trying to live out “You in the fitness: not your native tongue” (http://wp.me/p1Ut5W-b1)

  24. Sylvia R says:

    Hi Shelly,
Was excited to see my linky get parked next to yours. You have so many good things to say. And you did here again today. Yes, if only I would remember this with all my heart! There’s so much in Romans 8, isn’t there? I think I’ll put this verse on a card next to the coffee pot!! Thank you for beauty in truth and new-life photo.

    • What a nice thing to say Sylvia. I once was part of an internship with my husband shortly after we got married and we studied Romans 8 together. I remember it being a pivotal, eye opening time for everyone. Hope you have a great day.
